Students learn the basics of creating a digital story using Microsoft Photostory Using prior research and knowledge, students will be able to create a digital picture story about a Pennsylvania rock, where it is found in the State and what items are made from their rock.

Teacher will also review with students the use of programs to create digital stories about various subjects. The software to be used for this project is called Photostory. Teacher will model opening Photostory and the basic steps to create a digital story about the Rocks of Pennsylvania.

1. Open Photostory 2. Click Begin a NEW Story 3. CLICK on IMPORT PICTURES. GO TO Technology Lessons, Grade 3, Rocks of PA Photostory Resources (hold CTRL key down to import multiple pix at once.) a. IMPORT BACKGROUND (PHOTO 1) for your Title b. IMPORT 4 more PICTURES for your story. c. You should have a total of 5 pictures. 4. Click NEXT, CLICK On First PHOTO-Add Title & Name 5. Click on each photo – add a description. (Use your Favorite PA Rock WORD file in F Drive) 6. On your last photo, type your citation: Clipart: Schools.clipart.com 7. CLICK NEXT. Add Customized Motion to each photo 8. Click NEXT to add MUSIC, Click CREATE Music. Adjust Volume (LOWER) of music if necessary. 9. CLICK NEXT, Click on SAVE STORY TO COMPUTER FOR PLAYBACK 10. Click into Browse and Browse to your F drive. Click SAVE THEN Next. 11. Click into SAVE Project to SAVE to your F drive when finished.
